The Bible is Always Right

A most important truth that every believer must stand on is: the Bible is always right. Countless commentaries have been written by godly men who have studied each verse, and then written what they believe God has said. Unfortunately these writers don’t always say the same thing that the Bible does. One such instance is in Genesis chapter 10.
It says in Genesis 10:25 that the earth was divided after Peleg was born. Noah was Peleg’s great, great, great grandfather, and Noah was still alive during most of Peleg’s life. The obvious meaning given by this verse is that all the land in the world was once in one piece, but God divided the land at the time of Peleg.
Genesis 10:25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
This truth has been confirmed by modern-day geologists. They know that all of the continents are actually thin crusts, and they call these tectonic plates. By re-arranging the continents like a jigsaw puzzle. they have found that all the land masses fit together. Geologists have confirmed that the earth was indeed one giant mass in the past. Since they aren’t Christians they mistakenly believe the tectonic plates moved apart starting about 270 million years ago, but we believers know this event happened just a few thousand years ago.
Even though Genesis 10:25 clearly states that the earth was divided at the time of Peleg, some commentators refuse to believe this. Christian writers who believe in the six day creation claim that this verse refers to dividing the language of the people when the tower of Babel was being built. However the verse states that the earth was divided, not languages, so we must believe the verse as it has been written.
Books and commentaries can be helpful at times to clarify what God tells us in His Word. We must be careful though that we aren’t led astray to believe something different that has been written in the Bible. In the case of the earth being divided at the time of Peleg, that is what God has told us because that is what he did. He divided the earth! Our Creator spoke everything into existence in just six days. Wouldn’t it have been an easy task for Him to divide the earth into continents at the time of Peleg?
Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
