The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalm 19:1
The Only Way to be Saved
The heavens do indeed show the glory of God! Every day we see the beautiful sky above us, and on clear nights the stars shine down on us from heaven. On special nights we are able to witness the northern lights shimmering and changing colours before our eyes. All of these spectacular sights have been created by God. But there is a more beautiful place that God has made available to us. It is the kingdom of heaven where we may spend a joyful eternity once we leave this earth.
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. (Psalm 33:6-8)
The trouble is our sin has created a barrier between us and a holy and righteous God. Since Adam and Eve first disobeyed God all of mankind has been born with a sin nature. As it says in Romans 3:23 everyone falls short of the glory of God because we have all sinned. Sin is any act that is contrary to God's laws and commandments, and those sins we have committed separate us from God. There is a penalty for sin which is death as Romans 6:23 tells us. It is a spiritual death and eternal separation from God.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23)

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Religions try to create their own ways to God. It may seem right but it is impossible for us to earn our way to win God's favour (Proverbs 14:12). Activities such as giving to charities, helping at food banks, and volunteeering at homeless shelters are all good things. However there is no religion or good work that can ever get us to heaven. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that God gives us the gift of salvation as it says in Ephesians 2:8-9.
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Proverbs 14:12)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
The good news is that even though we were lost and separated from God, He still loves us and sent his Son so we may have everlasting life (John 3:16). The very nature of God is love and he has shown his love for us by sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins (Romans 5:8).
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
The only way to be saved by God and have a future eternal home in heaven is to place our faith in Jesus Christ. We must stop trusting ourselves, our good works, or our religions, and believe in our hearts and declare with our mouths that Jesus Christ is our Saviour (Romans 10:9). God promises us that he will save all who call on the name of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:13). If you haven't done so, there is no time like the present to believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour! Please call or email us if you have questions or would like to discuss this further.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thous thalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
